This is another bread baking project I made that contains pork floss. I love pork floss on anything! IT is very yummy!
Ingredients:
Dough:
200g bread flour
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp yeast
1 egg, beated
1/2 tsp salt
100ml warm water/ milk
30g cold butter
Pork floss
egg wash
mayonnaise
Steps:
1. Make the dough by mixing everything together and left to proof for an hour in a warm place.
2. Cut into 10-12 pieces, or desired numbers (depends on how big you want your breads to be).
3. Place pork floss onto each flatten dough, and make into a ball.
4. For the mayonnaise version, I put some mayonnaise on top of a flatten dough and put some pork floss, then I roll it up and seal the two sides up. Then, I cut the middle to reveal some filling, and place some more mayonnaise and pork floss on top.
5. Set aside to proof for 30 minutes, and brush some egg wash on each bread.
6. Bake at 350 F for 15-18 minutes. Left to cool completely.
The pork floss sucks up all the moisture, making it kinda dry, unlike the apple bread. So I think it is best to bake the bread first, then cut it into half, and put the pork floss. Do not put the pork floss into the bread and bake it in order to enhance the moisture in the bread.
Happy baking =)

Bear-Shaped Pork Floss Bread
Cute Bear Shaped Bread filled with pork floss! I have adapted the recipe from mosogourmet, a japanese youtuber who is super talented! I have changed the filling by using pork floss since I have no eggs to make any custard. However, the bread is lovely, but needed to be consumed on that day for better texture. It turned hard and dry the next day I eat it.
Bear-Shaped Pork Floss Bread
Ingredients:
200g bread flour
5g salt
5g yeast
15g sugar
120g water (you can use milk)
15g heavy cream
15g butter, softened
Steps:
1. Mix all the ingredients together except butter till combine, then add in butter and mix till smooth and shiny. Put into a greased bowl to let it proof for 1 hour.
2. The 1st proofing will double in size.
3. Put onto a floured surface table, and roll out using a rolling pin. Cut into 8 round shape weighing around 35-40g each. The remaining dough is used to make the ears. Wrap pork floss with the bread, and assemble the ears onto the bread using some water as "glue". Let proof for another 30-45 minutes till double in size.
4. Preheat oven to 320F. Bake the end product in the oven for 10 minutes. Then lower the oven temperature to 300F, and bake for another 8-10 minutes. Let it cool completely.
5. Mix water and cocoa powder to draw the face part of the bears. Enjoy!

Extreme Pork Floss Swiss Roll
I do not usually like savory cake because 'cake' to me supposed to be sweet. This is one of the exceptions, I guess. This time, I use another method to make this cake. I use the egg separation method to make this. I also increase the amount of pork floss for this cake. You can see the tremendous amount of pork floss outside of the cake, and also inside of the cake. Haha.. Too much?! Never too much for me! My absolute favorite. =P
Extreme Pork Floss Swiss Roll
Ingredients:
A: 4 egg yolks
20g sugar
30g vegetable oil
40g milk
80g cake flour
B: 4 egg whites
50g sugar
1 tsp cream of tartar
Mayonnaise
Pork Floss
Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Line baking pan with parchment paper.
2. Beat ingredients A till incorporated.
3. Beat ingredients B in another bowl till form stiff peaks.
4. Mix A and B. Pour into pan, and bake for 20-25 minutes.
5. Cool in pan for 5 minutes, and transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
Assemble:
Spread mayonnaise on the cake, and put pork floss on top of the mayonnaise, and roll. Spread another layer of mayonnaise outside of the swiss roll, and put more pork floss on top of it. Put into fridge for at least 30 minutes to set. Enjoy!

My bf loves this one more than the strawberry cream swiss roll. good for me. My sis and bf both have their favorites and help me in finishing the cake. The cake is relatively small because I only use the brownie pan instead of the 13"x 9" long pan.

Pork Floss Ogura Cake 肉丝相思蛋糕
Today, was another windy, cloudy, gloomy day.. But, if it is not raining heavily during the day, I am fine with this kind of weather, at least it is not too hot or too cold. It is the perfect weather without the sun and the rain.. Hehe... I am a gloomy person..>.<.. So, I plan to make Pork Floss Ogura Cake 肉丝相思蛋糕. I never regretted in making this, and I think you will never too, try it when you are free. =)
Pork Floss Ogura Cake 肉丝相思蛋糕
adapted from Qi Qi in the House
Ingredients:
5 egg yolks
1 whole egg
50g vegetable oil
80g cake flour
1/2 tbsp baking powder
80g milk
5 egg whites
80g sugar
1 tbsp cream of tartar
150g pork floss (you can use chicken floss or fish floss)
Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 360F. Line parchment paper on the bottom of the square pan.
2. Beat egg yolks, whole egg, vegetable oil till slightly pale.
3. Add in milk and flour mixture. Set aside.
4. In another bowl, beat egg whites, sugar and cream of tartar till form stiff peaks.
5. Mix the egg yolk and egg white mixtures together. Do not over fold it.
6. Pour half of the batter into the pan. Then sprinkle the pork floss on top of the batter, and pour the rest of the batter on top of the pork floss till all covered.
7. Bake in oven for 60 minutes till it has a springy touch on surface when touch.
8. Cool completely before taking out from pans.
9. Enjoy.
The cake did not rise like what I want it to be. Not really sure what happen. I think most likely is because I did not put into a water bath or I over beat the batter. Hope next time will be better. Only the middle sink, the rest still fine. The taste still excellent! Not too sweet, not oily at all. Yummilicious! >.<
Till next time =)

Breads
Since I was very young, I do not like to eat rice, but BREADS are my FAVORITE! I cannot live without breads! No idea why at all...I would always ask my mum to buy me breads for lunch or dinner instead of chicken rice, nasi lemak, etc...>.<...think back about it, I am really a weirdo...As I am growing older, haha...rice is an essential thing in my life, I will feel weird without any rice on any single day...having to say that, still extremely love breads..haha..okay..enough of me bragging about it... These are some posts of breads baking projects that I have made...
Cinnamon rolls with chocolate chips (Good combination!)
A mini batch of milk bread buns.. (not very successful though, i guess..)
This is a batch a bread with a filling of pork floss.. Absolutely delicious! Forgot to take a photo of the inside of the bun... The butter really give the bun a nice outer, shiny look.
