These are the snacks that I have made during Chinese New Year. I just post all of the previous baking photos up... Hope you guys like them!=)
This is the bak kwa that I made based on Min's Blog 'bak kwa' with a little changes that I made to adjust the sweetness and saltiness.
I have made some pineapple cookies (mind with the flaws and inconsistency >.< , first time making them). But, really delicious, the tartness is just right. I made everything from scratch because I find that the store bought ones do lack in textures. They do not have the "fibre" texture whereby when you bite into them, they will give you more "crunchy" texture. I do not like things to be too smooth (in this case). >.<
The recipe adapted from Slacker with adjustment of my own.
This really makes me proud! Hehe... I have never done it and I just recreate them with my memories based on how I remembered it. During the Chinese New Year, it is a tradition to at least once eat "Yu Sheng/Lou Sang". But, I never really like it except for the fried crunchy snacks. I made a healthy version of this yu sheng as all of the ingredients are natural, and no artificial flavors or colors at all. The ingredients are cucumber, carrot, radish, jicama, red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, green bell pepper, coriander, toasted sesame seeds, peanuts, plum sauce, honey, fish sauce, five spice powder, pepper, lime, sesame oil. Trust me! you will love it! =D
This is just almond cookies. Yummy!
Cashew Nut Cookies (I have always love the fragrance of it)
I have taken many other Chinese New Year photos, but I have forgotten where did I put it, so I'll post it on the next post. More to come!
